Our main purpose is to provide free, easily accessible educational resources and services to the community. This includes mentorship programs, encouragement of entrepreneurship, economic development initiatives, and unique offerings such as a gaming program and conversational Spanish learning courses, and more. These initiatives aim to foster community members' growth, learning, and opportunities. We are making strong efforts to reduce gun violence by actively intervening in the school-to-prison pipeline. By working with local schools, district leaders, and the juvenile system, we seek to break the cycle of violence at an early stage. Through mentorship, conflict resolution, and outreach programs, the goal is to prevent youth from becoming involved in criminal activities and, ultimately, reduce the prevalence of guns and violence in the community.
We seek to service our community through advocacy for individuals in various contexts, including:
-
School
-
Court
-
The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS)
Additionally, Antmound youth serve as advocates for their peers in areas such as:
-
Individualized Education Programs (I.E.P.s)
-
Grievances
-
Disciplinary matters
Our Purpose
Our journey began with a clear focus on community service, specializing in conflict resolution, gang intervention, and mediation. Our vision quickly transformed into action as we built partnerships with local schools, officials, district leaders, and the juvenile system to directly impact the community. This proactive approach helped address key challenges within these areas, aiming to foster safer environments and guide youth toward positive outcomes.
We made significant strides since our inception, including launching our first youth-focused program in 2021 and assisting in removing around 250 guns from the streets since 2016 with the help of over 22 street volunteers. These efforts reflect our strong commitment to improving community safety and positively influencing youth.
Since 2019, we have addressed an average of 20 incidents per month. This consistent involvement showcases our organization's active role in managing conflict resolution, gang intervention, and mediation in the community.
Our Story
Anthony McIntyre, a native of Savannah, Georgia, has witnessed firsthand the destructive patterns that can emerge from drugs, gang activity, family instability, trauma, and financial hardship in young people's lives. He believes that "failure to produce generational wealth is the greatest loss in any community, as it robs our children of the resources they need to build a solid foundation and a positive future."
Driven by his commitment to empowering the next generation, Anthony speaks to young audiences, motivating them to transcend their traumatic pasts and current crises. He advocates for a future where hope, education, and entrepreneurship become achievable realities. Through targeted relational mentorship combined with practical strategies, Anthony profoundly impacts the lives of at-risk youth and adults.
His experience navigating adversity spans from his youth in Georgia to serving as an engineer and underwater diver in the US Navy during the Gulf War. A series of unfortunate events led to his wrongful conviction for a murder he did not commit, resulting in a 19-year incarceration. As a passionate advocate for justice, Anthony provides expert testimony in criminal cases, shedding light on the dynamics of street organizations and their effects on individuals and communities.
Anthony's unwavering commitment to being part of the solution for individuals and minorities led him to establish AntMound LLC, a business, security, and political consulting company. He also founded the Antmound Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on youth-based issues and criminal justice reform. His latest venture, AntMound Trucking LLC, is envisioned as a semi-truck transportation company where individuals seeking a fresh start can find new opportunities.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Anthony engages in speaking engagements at public schools, colleges, law enforcement seminars, and more, inspiring others to embrace hope and resilience.
